Thank you for your patience! I ended up redrawing the page completely and it actually looks much better than before. I followed Ranna's suggestion, and tried something new : colored pencil over fine sandpaper, what a brilliant idea! The colors come out just as bright and more even, and get this - my scanner and sandpaper actually get along! I didn't lose the color intensity for once. Thanks for the tip Ranna!

So the title of the chapter finally becomes clear. I suppose it wasn't that hard to figure out, the main character being a bird and all : P Those of you who assumed the "Cage" was meant in a metaphoric way... you're not wrong either.
