Fainting Spells
: Sleep, page 22. Opening the appeal gate!
Wednesday, February 14 @ 12:46 am
This time I wanted to try my hand at traditional inking,
since I don't get to do it much. I didn't expect it to take so long,
but I encountered a number of little problems that slowed me down
while I was working on this page. First of all, as you may be able
to tell in places, the ink is bleeding. That was to be expected
since the only non-textured paper I had around was the cheap printer
paper my husband stole from his workplace : P Oh well, we manage
with what we have.
Since the pages were so small (I usually draw pretty big), each
frame pretty much took up one or two pages by itself. That makes
it harder to proportion and position everything once it's all ready
to come together, but at least it makes for clearer pictures. Lucky
I kept the backgrounds to a minimum. Finally, I was running low
on time and I got impatient, and didn't wait until the ink was completely
dry to erase the sketch underneath (-_-); Doh. Ink smudges everywhere.
Anyway, I meant to shade the whole page with chalk but I ran out
of time. I'm already past the midnight mark, so I'll have to leave
it at that or it might cause me to miss Thursday's page - which,
I think, will be a Valentine's special : )
Speaking of Valentines...
Cameo contest - hurry, it ends Sunday!
Valentine's Day crept up on me quicker than I expected, so I decided
to end the contest until the end of the week. To participate, all
you need to do is:
1) Post a picture of yourself as a child, anywhere between 0~12
years old
2) Tell us about something funny that you did or that happened to
you as a kid
The winner will become an actual character in a later chapter of
Fainting Spells. All other participants will most likely be featured
in the story at one point or another. Here's
where you can sign up! Please join the forum and participate!
