The secret is out! It hints at this
scene from chapter 2, which you may or may not remember. I was
hoping you would all brush it off as a joke when you first read
it. I guess I need to apologize to the people who complimented my
sense of humor without knowing that the joke had such disastrous
consequences : P Obviously, she took the valium, but if I had shown
her taking it, you would have known something was up! Past the initial
surprise, it's going to be hard to portray Jade's guilt in the next
few pages. In her defense, she didn't know that Aude was on medication.
I won't go into details in the comic itself because it would detract
from where I'm trying to bring the story, but I'm sure you're curious
to know what medicine she was taking. Well, Aude feels a lot of
pressure to perform, and as a result she tends to set the bar too
high, over-exerting herself and then getting discouraged when she
can't reach her goals. Her doctor quickly jumped to the conclusion
that she was manic-depressive (bipolar), and gave her lithium to
deal with the "manic" phases. Personally, I think finding
a good shrink would have been more help, but this is what happens
when people rely on pills to solve all their problems!
