Fainting Spells : Leaving Home, page 11. A suspicious basket in the kitchen : )
05/27/06: 1 - Leaving home #11

Well, I hope you all feel special!!

When I decided to use Illustrator to clean up today's sketch, I thought it would be faster this way. Yeah, right. It is now 2 in the morning. I can't believe I spent all that time on one picture. I can't figure out what took so long. I didn't have that much of a perspective problem... My bezier skills must be rusted. Because of the brush I used (no this isn't a default brush), the whole thing looks a bit messy - but I actually took the time to make my lines very precise, since I wasn't sure what kind of finish to give it in the end.

This is really just a simplified version of my own kitchen. Oven mitt hanging and all. Of course I have a lot more junk than this all over the counter. I could have drawn it realistically, but for this picture to work I had to keep visual distractions to a minimum... otherwise you might not have realized that she left her picnic basket behind, hmm?

If it didn't take so much time, I might use CG art more often. When I first started this project, I thought I would spend an hour on it a day, but it turned out to take much longer than I anticipated. Now I know why most webcomics are not kept up to date.
