05/24/06: 1 - Leaving home #9

It's hard not to get colors dirty when using watercolors. Luckily it works here, since sunrise is still a dark time of day. I have mixed feelings about today's drawing. I thought the sketch was great, but then the watercolors blended with the ink, and killed the precision of my sketch. I let it dry, and went over it again with a pen, but I still didn't like the result. In the end, I went back to my trusted color pencils for the finishing touch. I might do an all pencil picture next time.
